Rutland Rural Retreats
Just bed linen and towels if you have chosen not to book the bedding and towels pack. Duvet and pillows are provided as standard - you just need covers.
In the pods you will find all the essential crockery, utensils and pans needed to cook up a feast inside or out. Tea, coffee, sugar, UHT milk and condiments are also provided together with shower gel, hand wash and toilet rolls in the en-suite.
A fire pit starter kit comprising logs, kindling and fire lighters can be added when booking. Additional packs can be purchased on site.
In each pod you will also find:
Double bed, shelving and hanging space for clothes, hairdryer, fan in summer months, usb chargers, kettle, toaster, two ring hob, combination microwave/cooker, fridge/freezer, en-suite with shower, flushing toilet, sink and heated towel rail; dining area with moveable table, leather sofa, side table, mood lamps, twinkly lights, various games/books, torch and heated floors.
So, other than remembering your clothes, toiletries and food, you just need to bring your sense of adventure for exploring everything that the Rutland and Leicestershire countryside and market towns have to offer.
RRR is nestled in a secluded 4 acre meadow where we currently have just two pods. These are separate by a number of trees and meadow grasses to add to that sense of seclusion. Ideal for couples wanting to get away from it all and avoid the regimental feel that many bigger sites may have. If you are two couples wanting complete privacy, you would have total privacy within the secluded glamping field.
We do not accept tents or caravans for this reason.
RRR is set off the beaten track from Littleworth Lane which adjoins the A47. We really are accessible to all. Please google our location prior to booking. Given the proximity of the A47, if the wind is blowing in the direction of the village, you may hear some back ground road noise.
A firepit complete with BBQ rack is available for each pod. and a fire pit starter kit can be added at time of booking and includes a bag of Logs, kindling and some fire starters. Please note - only logs and kindling purchased on site to be used in the fire pit. This is purely to minimise any fire risk to surrounding meadows as seasoned wood is used specifically for this purpose.
We kindly ask guests to leave to leave the fire pit in the state you found it so that others can enjoy. Guests can bring their own charcoal or alternatively this can be purhased from various places, including the garage, in the nearby town of Uppingham.
No, due to the noise and disturbance associated with hot tubs we have taken the decision not to incorporate these into our offering. We want this to remain as tranquil an environment as possible for all to enjoy.
To maintain the tranquility for other guests we would request that visitors are kept to a maximum of 2 adult visitors per pod and they must vacate the site by 9 pm at the latest. Extra crockery and cutlery are provided for this purpose.
Unfortunately, due to the costs and time involve with changeovers, our minimum stay is 2 nights.
Discounts are offered for longer stays - please email to take advantage.
We warmly welcome your canine friends and have made our site as dog friendly as possible so that they can enjoy their stay as much as you. There is even access by the bridge for them to splash in the brook on those hot summer days!
We do kindly ask guests to pick up all dog poo both at your pod and any deposited along your way. Dog poo can be harmful to other animals. There is no additional charge for bringing your dogs (a maximum of two is permitted but note the bigger the dog, the less room for the humans!)
As we don't charge for bringing dogs we just ask that guests bring throws to protect any furnishings in the pods and leave the pod in a clean state upon departure. Any soiling to furniture and fittings will be taken out of your security deposit so please be mindful of where you let them sleep! Dogs to be kept on lead at all times outside of your private garden area due to other livestock (horses and sheep) and wildlife on site.
No separate tents or bookings for such are allowed on site to keep the intimate, secluded feel to the site.
Each pod has its own integrated fridge/freezer.
No wifi here......the aim is to allow our guests to get away from it all so we actively encourage you to ditch the phones and talk to each other instead! Enjoy your surroundings, crack open a bottle, go for a walk but try to resist the urge to boot those phones up. If you really can't resist the urge then there is good 4g coverage here and usb charging sockets.
No. Our pods are fully equipped with all the essentials to enable you to cook during your stay. If there is something we have forgotten or could improve by providing, please drop us a line with helpful feedback.
