Tucked away in the rolling hills of Rutland, on the edge of the charming conservation village of Belton in Rutland, lies Rutland Rural Retreats. Hidden from the world by trees, hedgerows, and gently flowing brooks, this peaceful, adults-only, dog friendly glamping haven is a place where time slows down and nature takes centre stage.
Launched in July 2022 by dog loving hosts Clare Farmer and Kirsty Brooks, Rutland Rural Retreats was created as a sanctuary for kindred spirits — those who crave calm, connection, and a breath of fresh country air. With just three luxurious en-suite glamping cabins, this boutique retreat offers true seclusion, making it perfect for relaxing escapes with your four-legged companions.
Whether you're soaking up the morning sun, relaxing in the hot tub at Shepherds Rest or just listening to birdsong as you turn the page on that book you've been itching to read, the serenity of this beautiful retreat gently washes away the stresses of daily life the moment you arrive.
Designed 100% with dog lovers at heart, Rutland Rural Retreats is proudly super dog-friendly yet never compromises on comfort, cleanliness, or those extra creature comforts for the hoomans. Here wagging tails and smiling faces all go hand in hand. Each of the three glamping cabins are heated, beautifully finished, and spaced well apart for maximum privacy. Woodpecker, the furthest of the 3, is a guest favourite for those travelling with more nervous or reactive paws, Bumblebee, with its 1.5m high fencing, is perfect for more athletic paws and last but not least.....Shepherds Rest with its very own, wood fired hot tub! All have their very own enclosed gardens with plenty of privacy so that paws can relax too.
Beyond the meadow, the surrounding areas of Rutland, Leicestershire, and Lincolnshire are brimming with things to see and do — from scenic walks and cosy pubs to charming market towns and local attractions. Tucked away yet easily accessible, we're just moments from the A47, making it a breeze to reach whether you're coming from Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, or even Nottinghamshire.
For those arriving by public transport, a convenient direct bus route stops just 250 yards from our gate. The scenic Rutland Round walking trail passes right by the doorstep, and the stunning Rutland Water — perfect for walking, cycling, birdwatching or watersports — is just a 10 to 15-minute drive away. Whether you're craving countryside tranquility or eager to explore the best of rural England, our location offers the perfect base.

Our rural glamping retreat is located at Brook Farm which is 15 acres in total and also supports the welfare of horses and other animals. Here they are given the freedom to roam, forage and interact with friends and for those who suffer with conditions such as Laminitis and EMS, we also provide a life line. Our grass free, track living environment enables them to continue living life to the full, a life of enrichment, a life without confinement. Brook Farm provides as natural an environment as possible to thrive.
Our extremely friendly Swiss Valais petting sheep are also nurtured on site and an array of visiting wildlife can often be seen nearby.
Don't worry though nervous paws......you can't see either our beautiful horses or cheeky sheepies from your glamping cabins/gardens, only on your short walk from the car park to the meadow.

Both our adult only, dog friendly glamping pods have been individually designed and crafted and are fully equipped with kitchenette, living and dining space, en-suites with flushing toilet and electric shower and underfloor heating.
Your outside space provides individually enclosed gardens with all you need to dine and relax under the stars whilst enjoying a glass of something chilled as you listen to the crackle of the fire pit.
On chillier days guests can relax and dine inside the heated pods or take advantage of the numerous pubs and restaurants that our locality has to offer.

Shepherds rest is our luxurious Shepherds Hut which joined its two sisters in 2024. Set within its own super large enclosed garden, it comes complete with eco friendly wood fired hot tub, king size bed and separate single pull out day bed.
Everything you have come to expect from the ever popular Woodpecker and Bumblebee glamping pods in terms of home comforts and dog friendliness but with even more added wow and by popular demand.......a wood fired hot tub!
